Yellow Socks

Ode to my Yellow Socks

A couple months back, I bought some fun socks from Costco because I was tired of always wearing boring old white ones. I have striped ones and plain ones and checked ones. However, recently I have started to notice something about my yellow socks.

Every time I wear them, I end up having a good day!

Just knowing that I am wearing yellow socks seems to perk me up and make me have a good day.

I have been feeling a little under the weather because of a nice little cold that happened upon me this week, so I think I am going to wear these babies tomorrow to try and redeem my week!

I love the little things like this in life that can make my day!!

Thank you Yellow Socks! You rock my world!!

Confessions

I can't believe it is Monday already! Seriously, where did the week go?

I will confess that up until last weekend, I have been TERRIFIED to try to make homemade bread.

Jeff's mom is a PRO at it and makes the most delicious bread and rolls in the entire world!

Thankfully, she loves me and taught me her tricks of the trade.

And low and behold, it really wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.

I was really amazed at it's simplicity.

This is how a couple of the loaves turned out,

Pretty nice, eh?

She taught me how to make bread, dinner rolls, cinnamon rolls, cinnamon bread and pigs in a blanket. All from one little recipe.

Thank you to momma Johnson for taking the time to teach me. I, and Jeff, are both grateful!

However I need to learn how to make wheat bread now because the whit stuff really isn't working into my diet plan. OH WELL!!

You win some, you loose some right? Maybe I can have little bits and just not engorge myself.

But it is sure hard not too!!

Confession Monday

YES, IT'S THAT TIME AGAIN.....

This is probably going to be the hardest confession I will EVER make. Because it's a little personal, but that is what this experience is all about, right?

at this very moment, weigh more that I have ever weighed in my entire life.

Granted, there are a few "medical" and "Food love" factors contributing to this problem. However, I confess that I have "let myself go"

I stopped caring about my body and it is time that I do something about it!

Today, I am starting a new plan.

I am going to start exercising again and watching what I eat!

I have done this before so I know it can work.

I have been able to loose the weight and fit in my "skinny" jeans.

With all of you friends that read my blog as my witnesses,

I WILL GET MY BODY BACK IN CONTROL!

Slacker....

We have had quite the last couple of weeks, so here is a little log of what we've been up to. I got some new stylish glasses because the old ones were just not cutting the mustard. Thank you Costco for being the cheapest place around for frames!! I have never been a glasses gal until now! I REALLY like my new frames!!

Aren't these fun? I used to be a strictly contact lens gal, but I am seriously lovin these!! Plus I feel smarter!! And don't we all need that?!

I have started being a little more adventurous in my cooking. Tonight we had Cheeseburger Soup!! It was great and Jeff was a happy man!! I've discovered the more things I try to cook, the more I like cooking!

This is my woolly mammoth that has been hanging around the house trying so desperately to keep cool. However, last week we took him and got him clipped, so now he is a skinny little fire bug again!!

I love it when they leave his ears pooffy like this, he looks so funny and silly and cute!! He is such a good dog!

I had the pleasure of making this Super fun and girly picture board for a friend of mine! Her little one is so stinking cute and I had a blast making this for her!!

We had Jeff's sister Jen and all her kids here for a week and then Jel and her twins came in town also so we were with family a lot!! They have all since gone home and we miss them a lot!!

Oh yes, and Jeff's brother Andy and his wife Lisa welcomed a little baby girl into the world on July 29th at 7:23 am. Baby Ellie is SO adorable and I love being an Aunt again!! Congrats to the proud parents!!

3 years and counting

I just wanted to post a little something to my one and only.

Jeff and I celebrated 3 years of wedded bliss yesterday! It feels like we have known each other for a lot longer than 3 years, but I guess that is what happens when you marry your BFF!!

Jeff, I never thought I could love a person more than I do Jeff. You are my best friend, you annoy the heck out of me and love me like nobody else could all at the same time! Here's to 60 more brilliant years to come!

Confession Monday

Another Week down and another Confession to go:

I am one of those people that treats their dog like a person sometimes!

I hate that I do it, but sometimes I can't help it. i think it is the maternal instinct in me that kicks in and goes into Mommy mode instead of Pet Owner.

I must say though, that if I never get to have kids, I am definitely going to be one of those people that has dogs. I love puppies and big dogs and could be so happy with 5 or so running around my backyard.

Jeff would be proud of me for admitting this because he teases me relentlessly about it!!
