Blessings....and the Christmas Spirit

This is my favorite Santa of all time. It helps that he's drinking coke, but anyways.....

This year I haven't really felt in the Christmas spirit. I've been depressed and grouchy and moody and just not into this time of year. I have been going through some personal health garbage and I put up our tree and obsessed over how I could make it better, tried to make the perfect Christmas Card and because I obsess over that, I ended up not going with anything I made, but with something I made at a Walmart Kiosk and just stupid things like that...

First off, yesterday Jeff called me at lunch and told me that his dad was admitted to the hospital, thinking he had had a mild heart attack. And all of a sudden, life was put into perspective for me. George is going to be fine. He has 3 blocked arteries and they put in 1 stint last night and will do the other 2 on the 29th. One was 99% blocked and the others were 90% blocked. It is truly a miracle he is alive. We were able to make it to the hospital before his procedure and all of Jeff's brother's were there to give George a blessing. It was offered by Andy and I truly felt like a miracle was taking place. It was an amazing experience, one that I will never forget.

So then today, I decided to snap out of my funk and get happy. I was able to get all of my Christmas Cards/Letters in the mail, I got some shopping done and it was mostly for Jeff and I finally felt like I was in the Christmas Spirit. I know this season is not all about presents, but being able to buy things for other people really just made me happy. I am making a couple of gifts as well and I almost have those finished too. I know it's kind of late to be finally in the game here....but it's true what they say. When you stop focusing on yourself and focus on others, you really stop feeling so sorry for yourself.

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope most of you were nothing like me and have been whistling a happy tune since December 1st!!

P.S. I got Jeff some really fun gifts this year and I am SO excited for him to open them on Christmas morning!!! I can't wait until I have kids someday to share their excitement too!!!

Learning

So I love how when I finally feel like I have life under control, something happens that sets me off and I feel like I am back where I started? I am totally rambling on right now,  and there are so many thoughts in my head but I don't feel comfortable enough to share them in public yet. SO....you get this confusing rambling of words instead!!

BUT IN OTHER HAPPY AND NON-CONFUSING NEWS??!!!!

Jeff turns the BIG 32 on Thursday and my brothers Aaron and Andy have a birthday tomorrow....and my sweet brother-in-law Dave had a birthday at the end of November...so in their honor....here is a handsome pic of them all!!! Plus my Dad....he is always important. Thanks to you all for being the MEN in my life!! I love you all!!
(Aaron, what is with the face? This is the best one I could find!! Aren't they handsome?)

Happy Thanksgiving

Jeff and I had a really good Thanksgiving. It started out with a morning run in the cool air with Chowder. Stopped by good old QT for the morning paper for some hopping deals. Went to my in-law's for dinner, it was delicious!! Watched some Kung Fu Panda for the first time EVER and LOVED it!! . Jeff is not a fan of Jack Black, so he was not as big of a fan as I.
Next we were off to my parent's house, had some pie. Mixed it up with my siblings and had some good laughs. Friday started off with Jeff waking up bright and early for the annual Duck hunt with his Perkins cousins. Didn't get any duck, but had fun playing in the mud with our truck. I was
car-less all day, but my mom so loving drove me to Michael's and Hobby Lobby for some stuff I needed for a church lesson. Watched Dan in Real Life
....LOVED IT!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS MOVIE TO EVERYONE!! Took Chowder for a walk, when I got home, felt like a cold was coming on. Jeff came home

Saturday, I deep cleaned my house because my siblings were coming over for a Mexican Potluck and  little Guitar Hero action. It was SO fun to spend time with my family. Andy & Tracy, we wish you lived here because it was so fun to have you home!! Food was delicious, company was great. Still feeling like death is overtaking my body.

Sunday, went to Church, did a little tithing settlement with our new Bishop. He is going to be wonderful!! Still felt like death. Went to bed early...

So I have all of those events and I have nothing to show for it. Lame, I know. I had my camera the WHOLE time and forgot to use it!! Hope everyone had a happy turkey day. I am still trying to kick this mother of a cold!! Wish me luck!!
