I believe

I don't think that in the entire year I have had this blog I have ever made mention to the fact that I am LDS. I don't really like to get too political or religious but today I felt the need to express some feelings I have had in my heart today.

After watching a video of a riot that broke out in LA regarding Prop 8...I just have to say that I am so grateful for my faith and testimony of Jesus Christ. It makes these scary times in which we live, just a little bit easier to bear. I am proud to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Halloween...

I know this is way late, but we had the annual Johnson family pumpkin carving contest and here are mine and Jeff's entries....I thought of his idea...so I will take partial credit for it...
Here is Jeff ready to get his pumpkin on...isn't he adorable folks?

Can you guess which one was Jeff"s?? (if you know him at all...it will be really easy)
Can you tell my husband loves to take pictures?

The final pumpkins...I hope you all can read the one on the far right!!!!!!! Can you tell our feelings on the election?

After the festivities were over, Kate decided she wanted to wear her uncle's shoes....she is too cute for words sometimes....and that was pretty much it for us...

New Post!!! Finally!

So I decided that it was finally time for a new post!! Last week I did a little Boutique shopping and here are some of my treasures that I found.

I found this cute little guy at the Orange Patch Boutique for $15.00 on sale!! WOO HOO! I fell in LOVE with this cute little guy the moment we laid eyes on each other. Cute, right?? Happy Halloween!

This little number is what I purchased at the Tattered Ladies Boutique. Bev made this and I bought it before the Boutique started because I knew it had my name written all over it!! It is a chalkboard as well. I couldn't resist!! SO cute!!! I bought a bunch of baby stuff bought I already gave it away as a baby shower gift, but it was some cute stuff too!!!

I went to my BFF's baby shower, Michala (Maughan) Farnes. She is having a little girl in February and it was so fun to see her. She lives in Utah and I hardly ever get to see her! I also saw some old friends I haven't seen in a really long time and it was so fun to catch up and remember the old days. We girls always had so much fun together!!! Love you guys!! I forgot my camera, of course, so no fun pics!!! Dang it!

Conference weekend my amazing mother-in-law taught me how to can peaches!! And here are the "fruits" of my labors... I was so darn impressed with myself! It was a lot easier than I imagined it would be. It was also a lot of fun! Thanks mom for teaching me!!! I ended up with about 17 jars! Food storage, here I come!!!

And last but not least...

If you can see, my front bumper has been smashed into the tire well of the passenger side! Yes, that's right! I was in a little fender bender in the Fry's, Kohl's parking lot. This lady named Lisa, wasn't paying attention and turned right into me. Yup...so that's fun. Everyone is okay....I'm just hoping that her insurance pays for the damage!! Neat....

So that is what has been going on here lately...

Johnson Update

SO I thought I would provide a little bit of an update on the Johnson clan....we've been to girl's camp, Home shows, and everything else in between over the last few months. We are pretty much just pushing along, trying to get from one day to the next. But isn't that how it is for most people??
So, as I said, here is a picture of my new hair do!! It definitely looked WAY better when Jel did it, but I am all I have , so...Like I said, not much different, but I LOVE it. This was also at the end of the day, when my hair is not at it's peak performance, but this will have to do.

Here are some pics of one of my latest projects. We made these stinkin cute boards for mutual one night and I was SO darn proud of myself for being crafty!! Because if you know me and my family at all, my mom and sister are pretty much good at all things crafty and I didn't get those genes so much. But all it took was Pictures, scrapbook paper, modge podge and an old cabinet door!! Fun huh? It was SO easy to make that I am thinking of doing some Christmas gifts.

And I finally got my new bulletin board hung on the wall. I have been staring at it for a while and finally got it hung!!

Not much else is happening with us. Just working hard and trying to save money...I am really liking my new job, it's been 3 months, but I am really happy with the change! I work with some really great people!

On another fun note...I finally convinced Jeff it was okay to paint our bedroom and I found in a magazine exactly how I want it, so I am going to get my paint!! I can't wait to share that project with you all.. So that's it for now..

Nothing like a good haircut...

**Disclaimer** So I guess I made it sound like I made a big change to my hair, but all I really did was go a little shorter and a little darker. Nothing fancy. I just hadn't had my hair done in a while so it was sort of a big deal to me!!! I will put up a picture tonight, but I promise, nothing special!!**

So being placed on a tighter budget makes you realize all of the little pleasures in life that we take advantage of...i.e. getting your hair done.

I used to be one of those gals who always had to have their hair done every 6-8 weeks. So let me tell you...it had been about 3 months since I last had my hair colored and a little over 2 months since I had it cut. So yesterday I went and had my hair done and it felt SO good. I came home feeling like a million bucks. I kept saying to myself there is nothing like a good new hairdo that can bring you out of a funk and brighten your week.

So thanks to my extremely talented sister-in-law for the GREAT new color and hair cut. I feel like a brand new woman. When I can steal my camera back from my hubby, I will take a picture!!

And Friday I finally get to use my gift certificate for a mani/pedi!! I am gonna be looking good, so watch out!!
